Guest Post & GiveAway: Lorenz Font

Lorenz Font was kind enough to give us some insight into the writing of Feather Light.

In the beginning of the book, there are some great sex scenes that don’t involve your heroine. Did you worry about putting those scenes in the book both because of the nature of the scene and the fact that your hero was not with the leading lady?

As far as I can remember, the concern did come up. Let me give you a little background on how Feather Light came to life. This novel was an entry to a contest by TWCS last year. The contest was called the making of a MASTERpiece, an erotica writing challenge. The challenge came in the form of posting one chapter a week while not going over eighty thousand words. At the end of each week, there was a round of voting, and the story with the fewest votes from either the readers or judges would be voted off. It is stressful enough to write a story with interesting characters, let alone while keeping tabs of the word count and the plot.

In my effort to introduce the male main character’s Dom tendencies early on, I wrote his first scene with a secondary female character. That chapter resulted in many readers developing a strong connection with the less central character. It was a risky decision on my part, considering our male lead had yet to be deeply involved with the true leading lady. It was a struggle for me to divert readers’ attention to the main female character, but after a massive dose of tweaking, it seemed like she was able to grab the readers’ attention. Also, I am glad to say that having introduced such a strong, interesting secondary female character opens up the possibility of a sequel to Feather Light.
