 Book Description:

Business partners, Smith and Brock share their fortune, success, and they share their women. A healthy competitive streak built MDR Software into a multi-million-dollar enterprise, and their on-going bets continuously raise the stakes. The current proposition: an arranged ménage encounter through the sex club, Castle Dolce Vita. The prize: a sexy kitten, Kyra.

While the two wealthy, powerful men are enough to pique Kyra’s interests to fulfill the Pact of Seduction and live out her ultimate fantasy, a bet forged between the men comes with an intriguing promise. Her pleasure is now part of their wager.

Soon, Kyra fights against her desire for the men as she struggles through the complications of a ménage relationship. Of course, the men take their bets seriously and are determined to show Kyra that in this game of seduction no one loses.

My Review:

This is a really good, really HOT read. I was thrown right into the story and the first steamy and intense ménage scene from page one. I was engaged in the story from start to finish. I liked all three of the main characters and found them to be believable, especially Kyra.

Kyra just wants to fulfill a fantasy and enlists Smith and Brock to help. She isn’t looking for anything deeper or lasting. Unfortunately she didn’t count these two being as hot, alpha and irresistible. When it came to protect herself and avoid living the life her mother did with her father Kyra has to rip her heart out and walk away. Lucky for her the “boys” would have none of that 😉 I want my own Brock and Smith, these guys are good at everything they do and when they decided they want Kyra they aren’t letting anything stand in their way.
I’m really pleased with the ending. The only problem is that, once again, I’d have loved to have more of these three. Although Bet On Ecstasy is the third book in the Pact of Seduction series it can be read as a stand-alone. I plan to go back and start the series from the beginning.

If you’re looking for a quick read that has emotion, well developed characters, oh and plenty of steamy, hot and good ménage sex this is definitely one to pick up.

Description

Can she accept the destiny being thrust at her?

For weeks, the darkly sinful Zachariah, her favorite customer at McGinty’s, has been raising NYC student Beth Siegel’s pulse, driving her crazy with need.

Neither can she keep the tall, blue-eyed mysterious Luke who haunts the library stacks at her day job, out of her mind or her sweaty, desperate fantasies.

Fate hands Beth a startling destiny: to bond with both of them—a bond formed via sex. Sex with either one of them would have been fabulous. Together? Irresistible.

But fate is a two-edged sword and the bond comes at a price. Luke and Zack are not what they seem, and the world as Beth knows it not quite the real deal. Can Beth accept the price the bond will ask of her?

Warning:  This story features two super hot alpha heroes, multiple sex scenes, including anal sex, MM sexual play, and MMF sex.  Do not read this book if frank sexual language and sex scenes offend you.
No non-humans were harmed except for large numbers of Grimoré, who died with satisfactory squeals…

My Thoughts:

It was sizzling erotic romance that I didn’t put down until the end and I can hardly wait for book two. This is a quick read that has well developed characters.

Beth has lusted after Luke and Zach for weeks and when they come together it’s intense, explosive and oh so hot. Beth accepts the situation remarkably well, almost too well to be believable, but I prefer that to over wasting time with that in a novella.

The reason behind the bonding and what they will have to face is gripping and fresh. This is my first read by Tracy Cooper-Posey and was pleased to get a well written and thought out story. I’ll be reading more of her work, especially the next two books expected in the Destiny’s Trinity series.

A touch of LillyA Touch of Lilly by Nina Pierce

Description:

Ex-Chicago detective LILLY D’ANGELO has a secret she doesn’t share with anyone. A master of the one night stand, she’s given up ever finding a soul mate and thrown herself head first into her career. That is, until she captures the wrong alien. Kidnapped and sold into the sex slave trade, she’s shipped into deep space. Barely escaping with her life, Lilly now travels the galaxy working as a bounty hunter using her secret talents to bring down criminals and seeking revenge on the one male who ruined her life.

Agent DALLAS SAWYER works for deep space’s version of the FBI. After a disastrous mission that left several of his team members murdered, a president executed, and Dallas near death, he’s determined to take down the assassin targeting government officials. When a sexy human female gets between him and his goal, Dallas and his alien partner find themselves on the receiving end of a passionate night they won’t soon forget and a proposition that may very well blow up in their faces.

Because in deep space … true love can happen with just a touch.

My Thoughts:

This is definitely a very HOT erotic romance. It also has a good story that was delivered well. On top of the good ménage smex there’s action, mystery, and insight into the emotions and motivations of the characters.

Lilly has a special ability that she sees as her personal albatross. It has caused a lot of trouble in her life; the least of which was the kidnapping and attempted smex slave incident. She has come to terms with the fact that she’ll be alone forever with one night stands here and there. What she doesn’t expect is to run into Dallas and Thaegan. Lilly is drawn to Dallas and he is able to resist her and get past her shields to the vulnerable woman inside. In return Lilly helps Dallas come to terms with a traumatic event and loss in his past. I really like Dallas; it took me a bit to warm up to Thaegan.

The one thing that bothered me was the need for the glossary. I went back and forth too much in the first chapter. The terms could have been handled within the story and it would have been much less distracting.

Parker Davis has conquered three major American cities and is the new ‘it’ man in massage. He earned the nickname ‘Feather Light’ for his sensual touches, tender caresses, and soft voice eliciting an almost orgasmic release. Clients from all over clamor for his services and his clientele are growing by the minute. Business is at its peak, which makes Parker a busy man who has no time to deal with problems, let alone dwell on his blindness. With his declining vision, Parker has to accept his limitations and the changes brought forth by this disease, but he is not ready to relinquish the last control he has left. He is still the master in his bedroom.

Kelly Storm, a Hollywood actress, will do whatever it takes to get some much-deserved peace. Being famous has its perks, except the little privacy her popularity afforded her is slowly eating at her. With the paparazzi hounding her every minute of the day, and her personal life under constant scrutiny, Kelly wants a semblance of normalcy wherever she can get it. Under the urging of a close friend, she agrees give Parker a try.

Their first meeting is nothing she expected. Kelly finds comfort in his gentle probing and the spellbinding experience guaranteed to keep her coming back for more. Parker knows the woman on his table is special. He feels her vulnerability with his fingertips and her smooth curves leave a burning ache inside him.

One night of steamy passion is all it takes to know that they wanted each other in more ways than one. Kelly hides in heavy disguises, making it impossible for Parker to know her true identity. What secret is Kelly keeping and will she trust Parker enough to tell him the truth? Will Parker see beyond Kelly’s lies to show her what a future with him holds?

My Thoughts:

This was a nicely paced enjoyable read about two people with a few issues to deal with. I was happy with the fact that it focused on the relationship between Parker and Kelly. Don’t misunderstand there was some angst but nothing that had to do with anyone being in danger or chased in any way. That was fairly refreshing.

Parker has to deal with his increasing blindness and face the fact that he really hasn’t dealt with it no matter how hard he pretends to. I liked him a lot, but thought he went way OTT when he found Kelly’s true identity. I won’t spoil it, but it was tough to read and forgive him, which I felt Kelly did way too easy. I understood why Kelly kept her fame a secret. She wanted to be loved for the real person she was, not the one on the big screen. I think she should’ve divulged this little tid bit sooner; maybe Parker wouldn’t have gone so far off the rails. The knowledge of who Kelly was brought everything to a head and the two of them had to face their issues and do it on their own.

Overall, this is a heartwarming story with some wonderfully hot and steamy sex scenes and a happy ending 🙂

Review: Bad Kitty

Bad Kitty_finalBad Kitty (Southern Shifters #1) by Eliza Gayle
Pages: 155
Publisher: Gypsy Ink Book
Review Source: Publisher
Release Date: September 10, 2013
My Rating: 3.5 Stars

Synopsis:

If you think you’ve lost everything. Think again.

Kitty lost her father, her home and her clan. Clinging to what’s left of her pride, she’s forced into the neutral zone, the supposed safe haven for half-breeds and outcasts. An attack forces her to the wrong side of the treaty line and into an even more dangerous situation. Determined to greet death with the last of her dignity, she is suddenly rescued by a tall, gorgeous…wolf???

As the next alpha leader of his pack, Rafe Comyn has more than enough to handle with pack politics and precarious treaties. The last thing he needs is a pissed off feline landing in his lap, especially when her scent triggers his overwhelming drive to mate. While the daughter of a former rival is quite a conquest, she’s both forbidden and dangerous.

But as the heat of desire threatens to consume them, their differences escalate and Rafe must keep his own pack from killing the one woman he can’t live without.

My Thoughts:

This is a well written and fun erotic paranormal romance. There’s plenty of action and it starts on the first page. I read it in through without stopping. I admit there were times I wished it had resolved the relationship with Kitty and Rafe, but I liked how they ended up.

Kitty has been through a lot and even more happens to her as the story unfolds. She doesn’t even get to see the inside of her new house when someone tries to kill her. As a result of running from that attack she is thrust into Rafes life. Good thing for her he came along when he did.

Rafe is a hot alpha who knows what he wants and goes after it. He is kind and caring toward Kitty, which is a new experience for her. Rafe systematically faces every challenge that tries to come between them.

On top of all the action and drama there’s the sex; it’s hot, passionate, and at times very intense. There is an open ending, not sure if the story will continue with Rafe and Kitty or if it’s a setup for new characters. Either way I can’t wait to read the next one and was happy with the ending to Bad Kitty.

Freedom to SubmitFreedom to Submit (Freedom, Colorado #1) by Melody Snow Monroe
Pages: 164
Publisher: Siren Publishing
Review Source: Publisher/NetGalley
Release Date: Sept. 7, 2013
My Rating: 3 ★★★☆☆

Synopsis:

Smart, curvy, surveillance expert Danisa Milan captures a killer’s crime on video. When he threatens her life, her high school dream man, Sheriff Brady Braxson, insists she move in with him and his Dom rancher roommate, Lucas Holt. Maybe it’s the danger she’s in, but her desire explodes being around them, and she loses her heart to both. But are they only acting like they want her because she’s in their care, or do they want her to be their submissive for life?

Brady and Lucas find Dani perfect in every way, but they don’t want to overwhelm the ménage virgin. What can they do to convince her to be theirs forever?

When the killer is found dead, everyone thinks the danger is over. Then Danisa finds evidence someone else is behind the murder, and their lives tailspin. Can the men reach her in time before she’s killed, too?

My Thoughts:

This is a good beginning to a new series. It basically revolves around three college friends that start up a security/surveillance company. It is definitely for those 18 and over.

Dani has moved back home to the small town of Freedom for the business she and her friends have started. On a stakeout Dani sees a murder and catches the killer on camera. Unfortunately he also sees her and this is where the mystery of exactly who is trying to silence her. Brady walks into her life that night as he’s the sheriff. Dani is immediately reminded of the crush and fantasies she had of him in high school. When Brady suggests she moves in with him and his roommate Lucas so they can keep her safe she fights it for a few seconds; but who wouldn’t want to be keep safe? 😉

Brady is drawn to Dani and he wants to see what Lucas thinks of her. They’ve been looking the one they can share permanently. Lucas is more serious about a D/s relationship than Brady, not that Brady isn’t into the scene, he just wasn’t as strict a Dom as Lucas. I have to admit Dani slept with Lucas a bit too soon for me I’d have at least waited a day or two. The sex was hot and varied, sometimes just two and others all three. If you’re looking for a steamy erotic romance this is a good one to pick up.

The mystery of who the killer was seemed to be secondary, and a bit drawn out. I’m still not sure of the real motive behind the first murder; there was a lot speculation but no definitive answer. This is the only issue I had with the story. It’s well written, edited, and flows nicely. I’m hoping the following books in the series focus on Dani’s partners Nikki and Holly.

ARC Review: Mine To Keep

Mine to KeepMine To Keep (Mine #2) by Cynthia Eden
Pages: 280
Publisher: Cynthia Eden
Review Source: Author/NetGalley
Release Date: September 16, 2013
My Rating: 3.5 stars

Synopsis:

Love is the most dangerous obsession…

Skye Sullivan is trying to put the pieces of her life back together. She survived a brutal stalker and escaped his abduction, and now she is looking to the future—a future that includes Skye’s lover, billionaire Trace Weston. Skye thinks the danger is finally over for her.

She’s dead wrong.

When Trace’s past comes back to haunt him, Skye discovers that the man she loves isn’t quite who he seems to be. Trace has been leading a double-life. An ex-special forces agent, his military training turned him into the perfect killing machine. He made more than his share of enemies during his time in the military—and as he built his security empire—and one of those enemies is striking back.

He won’t lose her.

Skye is the one weapon that can be used against Trace—his only vulnerability. But he won’t let her go—he can’t. Trace will do anything necessary to protect Skye. Anything. Yet when she discovers the secrets that he’s tried to keep hidden, Skye’s pain and rage may send her running directly into the cross-hairs of a killer…

Author’s Note: MINE TO KEEP is a sexy romantic suspense novel. It contains violence, strong language, and hot adult situations. Please consider yourself warned. Thank you.

My Thoughts:

This is the second book in the Mine series and the conclusion to the first Mine To Take. I will mention that the first does not end in a cliff hanger; it ends in a nice spot.  Mine To Keep picks up 4 weeks after the end of Mine To Take. These must be read in order, so I’ll try not to rehash book one or spoil this one.

I was glad to get more of Skye and Trace’s story. This one is a mystery full of angst. Skye is dealing with the aftermath of her abduction including nightmares and Trace’s need to protect her. She is a strong woman to have dealt with all that she has in her life. Finally Skye has the only thing she’s ever wanted, Trace, but now they have to figure out who is out to destroy him by killing her. We see a lot more of Skye’s strength and determination.

Trace is just as alpha and hot in this story. We get to know him so much more and what he’s been through during the 10 years he was away from Skye. Trace has done some bad, dangerous, good, and painful things while in and out of the military. It’s a mission from the past that comes back to haunt him and Skye. He has to eventually tell Skye the truth about his past if he’s going to protect and keep her. It’s after he opens up that their love really grows, if you thought it was intense in the first book you were wrong. I feel more for Trace than in the Mine To Take.

This has just about everything romance, HOT sex, angst, and mystery. I have to say that I figured it out sooner than I would’ve liked and that left me feeling as if it was drug out; but it was still a fantastic “who done it” to solve. Noah is also introduced and I can’t for his story.

Every Dawn Forever

Every Dawn Forever (Hyena Heat #2) by R.E. Butler
Pages: 158
Release Date: July 11, 2013
Review Source: personal purchase
My Rating: 4.5 Stars

Synopsis:

When Orion and his were-hyena clan rescue a she-wolf hiding in a bus station bathroom, they had no idea that they would be staring into the tear-filled eyes of their mate. They’ll do anything to keep her safe and make her theirs forever, even if it means keeping her at arms’ length.

Sydney Nichols never believed she would know what freedom felt like until she found a way to escape her abusive mate. But before she escaped, her mate did something to her, and she’s unable to hide the effects of his tampering when the group is stranded overnight during a storm. When the truth comes out, will they forgive her and embrace their future, or will she lose the only good thing she’s ever had?

My Thoughts:

I really liked this story. What I liked about it most, I think, was the fact that even though the heroine is in danger it resolved with a lot of story left over. The ending is not rushed, feels natural and is believable. This is the second book in the series, but can be read as a stand-alone.

Sydney is one of the strongest heroines I’ve read in a while. She has so much to deal with, yet does with courage and an eye to the future. Sydney is sold to be mated by her very neglectful mother when she’s only 18. Her new “mate” abuses her in every way for years. The one act of kindness shown to her is when she is given the means for escape. Before she runs her abusive mate does something that makes the night very hard on her and very interesting for her and her rescuers.

I just loved Orion, Crux, and Sterling. Not only have they found their mate, but they have to deal with her being a survivor of terrible abuse. Of course they help her through what was done to her on the night of her escape, but after that they back off and try to let her lead. What they don’t know is she’s waiting for them to make the first move. This causes a bit more hurt to Sydney, but it is straightened out shortly. The men’s personalities came out clearly, their different characteristics were apparent and they had depth.

The sex was oh so HOT and plentiful, but didn’t feel repetitive. Butler handled the ménage scenes very well. I would recommend this to those looking for an extended happily ever after with lots of steamy action and tender caring Heroes who happen to turn furry every now and then. This will probably be a book I will re-read.

Welcome to Carnivale Diabolique ― or what I affection ally like to call the circus of the damned.

My name is Pandora, and though my face might not seem familiar to you, you do know me. I’m a Nephilim. What does that mean? I’m half demon, what’s my other name? Lust. I’m the dark craving that drives you mad, makes you want, makes you reckless and stupid. I’m the drug you’ll do anything to get your hands on. But I’m not all bad. I fight for light, for goodness and truth. I love my job; killing vampires and werewolves, zombies, and freaks… it’s what makes me happy.

But people are starting to disappear and lately I’ve felt a dark presence lurking around me. I think it might be a death priest, that’s not good. There isn’t much a demon like me fears, but I fear them. This should have been easy, me killing the fanged freaks, getting rid of my pesky priest problem, but I’m about to be betrayed by the one person I thought I could trust with my life and before the night is through I’ll be covered in crimson..

My Thoughts:

I usually only give 5 stars to books I know I’ll re-read and this one is no exception. This is an excellent first book to a series. The first part of the book is devoted to character introduction and world building. Not only are the MCs fully developed; I got to know and like the secondary characters and their unique personalities.  I spent a summer working for a traveling carnival when I was young (great way to see the south) and Marie Hall brings Carnivale Diabolique to life. I could see and smell the midway. I fell into the story from page one and didn’t put it down until I finished it really late at night. I loved everything about this story from the plot and characters to the fact that the writing was faultless (to my eyes anyway).  The pacing was quick and perfect for the book.

Pandora is one of the strongest paranormal heroines I’ve read in a while. Don’t get me wrong she has her issues to deal with, anyone of her age and having another to share your mind and body would. Pandora also sees herself as weak at times and she’s so far from it.

The mystery/suspense kept me turning the pages. It wasn’t so easy to figure out and it was just enough angst to keep me on the edge, but not so much that it got frustrating.  The sex was well done with the right amount of detail that it was very hot and steamy without overwhelming the rest of the book.

I’m impatiently waiting for the story to continue. I recommend this to anyone looking for a well written paranormal that will have you laughing and then tearing up at times this is the one for you.
